HKT48 no Odekake! EP27 – English Subs

June 19, 2014 by

Odekake27

In this episode, the members split up into two teams to compete in a cooking contest to increase their “girl power.” Can the girls learn how to cook? Which team will win? What exciting things will Sasshi and Goto talk about this week?

The center this time around is Rikopi.

Enjoy!

Thanks a lot, was sick all week, so I watched this and the last episode together and felt better for it. In the last episode I was surprised because I always keep assuming idols are really fit because of the endless dancing and practice, but I guess it only really works specific muscles. This time I was actually surprised at how good they were, especially Chori and Sakura (although Chori’s a bit older so she may have had to look after herself). I also liked seeing Shige mope around selfishly, been a while since I saw a good Shige sulk.

PS. I saw mention of a fictional Dasu/Kaotan/Tani subunit in the twitter bar, and as a result I wrote a letter to Aki-P suggesting it (which will probably never get there), it would be the best thing ever. So

Aw, hope you feel much better!

Yeah, I thought they would be much more athletic, but most of them are really weak, clumsy, have no stamina, etc. But then again, HKT isn’t known for their aggressive dancing… I bet SKE and NMB would do much better. The adult team did so well, but they have Lovetan who is fantastic at cooking. The young team didn’t even taste their food, lol.

Oh haha, most of the convos I have on twitter are dumb, but it’s cool thinking of made-up units. You should join us!

Hello BM how are you? My friend who runs Lonely Advocado’s blog sent me your way!  Actually, LA sent me to you awhile back but I’ve only recently had a moment to write to you. I wanted to tell you two things. First, GREAT JOB on all these episodes you have been subbing! I absolutely am in love with HKT now because of your subs of Odekake! I am blown away by how amazing they all are. My favs are Tani and Anyan! Both crack me up every time they are on here!
Secondly, are you going to be subbing the HKT field trip to Tokyo soon? They have been showing snippets of it in some of these episodes and it looks hysterical! I love when they do different things like this on the show instead of just go to restaurants and eat (still, those episodes are funny too). I really would love to see that.
I actually have one more question… do you have any desire to do any more subs of shows? I would love it if somebody out there could sub another series for AKB even… there are so many holes, for example, with the AKBINGO shows. Plus I would LOOOOVE if someody could do Nemousu! I am talking about hard subs for these things of course. I don’t do soft subs. If you have any interest, what would it take to make that happen?
No matter what, I’m a huuuuuge fan and supporter of your blog. It’s permanently up as a tab on my Google Chrome browser. I refresh it every single day looking for new episodes. Thank you so much for everything. I look forward to your responses. –Derek

Hi, thanks for the kind words! I’m glad you’ve grown to like HKT through Odekake! Not many people enjoy it since it can be pretty bland and that’s kinda depressing for me as a subber, but when people are as enthusiastic about it as you are, it helps motivate me a lot more. So thanks for that! 🙂

As for the Tokyo trip, that arc is 4 episodes long and will be the last Odekake episodes I sub for the time being. I might come back to it someday if the demand is high enough, but for now I’m a bit burnt out.

The thing with subbing AKB shows is that because so many groups do it, I have no idea what is claimed and what isn’t. With HKT we have a handy sub compilation sheet that lists all HKT-related shows and indicates whether it’s been subbed/claimed already, making it very easy to pick up new shows. But for shows like AKBingo, I have absolutely no idea what episodes have been subbed or which subbing group has claimed what. I mean, I’m not ruling it out completely especially since I love AKBingo and that would be a blast to do, but for now I’m leaning towards subbing HKT or SKE things. Or I could become request-based, although I feel like that just asking for trouble.

BM, Thanks so so so much for the fast response! Since joining the AKB universe a few years ago, I have met ONLY great wotas and people who love to help those of us who can’t speak Japanese. I mean, I can speak conversational Japanese, but not enough to fully understand an AKB show without subs. So once again, I am SO grateful for anything you decide to sub.
Ah, so the Odekake field trip is four episodes? That’s going to be AMAAAAAZING! I am so excited for it! Ganbatte yo!
As for becoming request based, I definitely understand what you mean… that could get troublesome. I can tell you definitively that nobody has subbed fully Nemousu. I think I’ve seen MAYBE one episode online, in terms of hard subs. So that would be incredible if you could start on that if you feel up to it. As for SKE subs… what did you do or have done? I got into one program with them a while back but I can’t remember the name. It had this female comedian constantly being mean to them and rearranging the seating every episode based on their performance of whatever they were doing. Does that ring a bell? It wasn’t a very long series… I think like 12 episodes. They were all hysterical because of the one girl who made that great speech at the Sousenkyo this year and had the video camera. I am sorry, don’t know SKE all that well like I should. So I would love to see ANYTHING SKE related.
AKBINGO is nostalgic for me because it was my first introduction to the AKB Universe. It made me love them all so much. Then I watched all the film documentaries out currently (I CAN’T WAIT FOR THE TIME HAS COME! I HOPE SOMEBODY HARD SUBS THAT IMMEDIATELY AFTER IT’S RELEASED) and I just fell head over heels for what AKB is and does in the world. So people like you make my heart skip a few beats because you allow me more access to the AKB universe and I wish I could pay you money or do something nice for you since you have done this. Lonely Advocado’s done that for me too and we talk in e.mails and I couldn’t be happier. So I am officially a fan of yours and if you do decide to do anything else with HKT  or have anything with SKE you could direct me too, or if you decide to anything I’ve suggested via AKB… let me know. I would love to see it. Your subs are lovely. You are too. Looking forward to hearing from you.

You’re talking about Ebi-Fri! It’s definitely one of my favorite 48G shows ever, mostly because I like Okubo (the lady comedian who’s a bit lewd) and it was what got me into SKE fully. I haven’t subbed any SKE content yet because I’ve been exclusively HKT, but they’re my second favorite group so I wouldn’t mind at all. Also, that girl with the video camera is Matsumura Kaori – Lifetime Honorary Kenkyuusei and the 48G Kenkyuusei Captain, aka Kaotan.

As for Nemousu, I don’t really keep up with it so I’m not sure if I want to tackle it. But honestly I have no idea what I’m going to do after I’m done with Odekake other than finishing a few requests I received a long time ago and embarrassingly procrastinated on, so idk, I might end up doing a few episodes. It all depends on what the majority of people want to see, I guess!

Once again, thanks for your kind words!  Glad to hear you’re in touch with Lonely as well. If you didn’t know already, Half-assed also subs HKT stuff, so if you haven’t already you should check it out!

Ah, Okubo was her name! She was hysterical on there. She really teased the heck out of Kaotan! I appreciate you filling in the name spots for me there. Also, you are amazing and I completely understand after Odekake if you take a break or only do a few translations for awhile. You deserve a rest for all the hard work you’ve done subbing for us. And yes, I am familiar with Half-Assed. I troll the internet looking for ANY subs of ANY shows AKB related. I think I’ve found most of what is out there but every now and then I’m pleasantly surprised, like when Lonely showed me your blog. I have spent the better part of last month on your blog just watching every single thing you have on here. I am sooooo happy you have done this for us!
Having said that, PLEEEEEEEEAAASE keep subbing! I watch everything you do and even if you don’t pick up Nemousu (you should give it at least a one or two episode try… it’s sooo much fun), maybe another series. I know Shukan AKB wasn’t really fully subbed. I like some of the more fun episodes people do, like the Mechaike specials. I am trying to get Lonely to sub the recent Yokoyama wrestling match. I watched it even without the subtitles and almost fell out of my chair laughing. That would be a good one to sub. There’s also an AKB VS. SKE cage match battle out there somewhere that has the girls going back and forth with insults on the microphone. Those ones are my favs because the girls are all adorable and then they get the mics and become so hard-ass lol. I love it. Anyways, whatever you decide to do, I support fully. I’m so happy to see the vids you put up here. Thank you no matter what. I’m a huuuuge fan of yours!

Thank you so much! I really like this episode. Again, Thank you so much for the subs! HKT are my favorite group, so I’m so happy to see your subs.
Anyway, I have to say that I’ll be more then happy if you will translate new episodes of Odekake, but I guess you are not going to do it, right?
    Anyway, Thank you very much!
PS. A-A-N-Y-A. THIS GIRL IS RUINING MY LIFE. SHE IS THE BEST MONKEY IN THE WHOLE WORLD.

      Thanks for watching! 🙂

Not at the moment, but if there’s enough demand for it I’ll continue subbing the newer episodes after taking a small break. I just want something new to sub since I’m burnt out on Odekake, haha.

I haven’t seen her much since her scandal broke out. 🙁 She has a fragile heart so I hope she’s ok!

And about Aanya, she seems ‘ok’ in NMB performances, and she looks happy and so on. I wish her to be safe again, she is my 2nd oshi in all 48g, so… yeah…
Oh, Aoitan was so cute in this episode! Somwhow she catched my atention more then usually. Cute Aoi.

I think she’s supposed to perform in a KIV stage soon, so it’ll be interesting to see how that goes. Hope she’ll be received warmly.

Aoi’s braided twin tail look is one of my favs. It’s so cute!

She finally has a KIV stage today. I’m SO happy!
Her “Usuall” unit is Arashi no Yoru ni wa with Rabutan, MInazou and Okapan. Okapan isn’t performing today.  Kanon isn’t performiong today too, Mio too.
….Maybe Maikomu will get one of this positions?
